Project Description

The project includes thorough research on the working conditions in the waste sector in Lebanon, with a specific focus on the regions of Rachaya El Foukhar, Hasbaya and Chebaa. Oxfam aims to gain insight into the factors and underlying reasons that hinder the establishment of dignified working conditions in this sector.

The ultimate goal is to provide programmatic and policy recommendations that ensure the relevance of the intervention.

Description of Provided Services

  • Engaging with key stakeholders to gather information on SWM conditions and workforce.
  • Gathering data from various sources including municipalities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to understand SWM dynamics and workers’ conditions.
  • Identifying and reviewing relevant literature, legal frameworks, and case studies.
  • Organizing and synthesizing findings into a cohesive report aligned with research objectives.
  • Conducting interviews with key stakeholders in SWM and livelihoods.
  • Facilitating discussions with diverse groups, including informal workers and employers.
  • Coordinating workshops and briefings for the dissemination of research findings.
